The largest region of the Mid Rim, the Slice is notable for its strong manufacturing-based economy. While on paper the Empire controls most of the Slice, the northernmost extent is cut off where the Imperial DMZ passes through. The Slice also shares its eastern border with Hutt Space and the Umbral Zone, and the cartels have strong influence there. Much of the galaxy’s illegal narcotic trade flows through the Slice before being distributed to the galaxy at large.
