Biography:
Background & Early Life
Torrin Vorrche was born in the vast ocean cities of Mon Cala, raised in a family of naval engineers and logistics officers. As a young Mon Cal, he had a talent for logistics, coordination, and ship maintenance, which led him to enlist in the Galactic Republic’s Supply Corps. He quickly rose through the ranks as a logistics officer, overseeing fleet coordination and resource management.
He served faithfully for many years before witnessing the rapid militarization of the Republic—the Clone Army’s deployment disturbed him. Vorrche saw how war shifted priorities from efficiency and care to cold, calculated destruction. When the Republic began commissioning larger fleets, old vessels and droids were decommissioned and auctioned off. Among them were the ZT-800TF Corellian Heavy Tug Freighter and the three R2 astromechs that Vorrche had managed during his service.
Seeing an opportunity for independence, he pooled together his military severance and purchased the ship and those three droids. Just as he set out to make a life for himself, the Republic became the Galactic Empire.
Life as a Salvager & Mechanic
Torrin Vorrche carved out a living as an Outer Rim cargo hauler and emergency repair operator. His freighter, the Orrax Claw, became a self-sufficient mobile workshop. The cargo claw system on the ship usually carries a dedicated cargo pod that is stocked with replacement ship parts—everything from reactors to shield generators. The main salvage beam installed in the old escape pod socket under the cockpit is used to cut and then work in tandem with the tractor systems on the mandibles. Small manipulator arms, tractor beams and salvage cutters extends from the 'Maw' to strip apart the large pieces into smaller, usable salvage. These smaller parts are then tractored into the cargo pod nearby.

Vorrche takes contracts for:
- Deep-space repairs for stranded ships
- Salvaging wrecks for parts to resell
- Tugging damaged vessels to repair stations using his tractor beam systems or mandibles for larger vessels
- Selling high-quality ship components to frontier mechanics and small-time traders
Despite being a businessman, Vorrche keeps his paperwork airtight—he legally registers his cargo and salvage operations, and ensures that every job he takes is “clean.”
A Secret Rebel Ally
While Vorrche doesn’t openly defy the Empire, he deeply distrusts it. He saw how the Jedi were falsely vilified, how trade became increasingly controlled, and how independent operators like himself were squeezed for profit.
On occasion, he stumbles upon freedom fighters before the Empire can find them. He sells vital parts at extreme discounts to those buyers and, when no one is looking, helps repair hidden resistance bases across the Outer Rim. His work is subtle, quiet—but if the Empire ever caught wind of it, he’d be labeled a terrorist. A job is a job though. He frequently works Imperial tug jobs since the pay is decent and the jobs are numerous with the ever-increasing sizes of the ships they are developing.
Crew
- R2-A1: Known as Axel (pink). She is the co-pilot and lead astromech for navigation and systems control. Main repair droid.
- R2-B2: Known as Bolts (orange). Extremely good at taking apart things and organizing....bolts. Slots into a gunner socket to control a turret.
- R2-C3: Known as Crowbar (green). The problem solver. High-end computational power and stores a tremendous amount of ship maintenance catalogs. Slots into a gunner socket to control a turret.

Personality:
Vorrche is gruff, efficient, and practical—he dislikes wasting time on pleasantries and prefers people to get to the point. Despite his grouchy demeanor, he genuinely cares for his droids and his clients. He takes pride in getting the job done right, whether it’s fixing a failing hyperdrive or retrieving valuable wreckage from a dangerous derelict.
He’s a workaholic—he spends hours in his office handling paperwork, ensuring every job is logged, every permit is up to date, and every part accounted for.
Important Assets:
Orrax Claw - ZT-800TF Tug/Freighter outfitted with tractor beams, salvage systems, increased reactor and engine power for heavy tug jobs. The front clamp system is powered through an auxiliary power unit separate from the main ship system. This is for large cargo pods with additional thrusters or power needs. This allows the tug to transport huge columns of cargo containers while maintaining safe maneuvering capabilities relative to cargo size. Additionally, the pods could be refrigerated or contain life support for VIP or prisoner transport via detached habitation units.
DT-12 Blaster Pistol - His old service pistol
