Biography: Gabru still remembers his home on Sarvchi, the pain of losing it and losing his family. Even after 14 years of exile, some wounds never heal. The memories of his childhood are forever be tainted by that singular moment, standing next to his mother and father, being stripped of their family name. The long, dangerous years of travel afterwards fed on that moment, building a deep resentment. After almost 3 years of exile, his family reached a new home: Serenno. With the zealotry of someone who has lost everything, Gibbs’ family wholly embraced their new home. In the Republic, the treasonous beliefs that had gotten them exiled were just normal, rational political discourse. Not only could you discuss those ideas, but you could make a living doing it. So that's what Gab’s father did, writing in several local political columns as an “outsider.” It wasn't enough to live on at first, but it was a starting point. Something that could be built up as his mother earned real credits publishing travel logs on the HoloNet.
As tensions began to rise in the Outer Rim though, Gab's family decided to move again. With what little savings they had, they moved to the beautiful planet of Naboo, where real loyalty wouldn't be disparaged. Gabru, only 17 at the time, took the opportunity to enroll at the university in Theed, studying to be a writer and a journalist, like his father before him. After only two years though, the Clone Wars began.
What use is schooling, if you don't take the chance to use what you've learned? Gabru left university with many of his classmates to work as a war-correspondent, traveling among clone troopers, local militias, and humanitarian organizations. It was brutal, but it was the right thing to do. After the war ended though, he felt lost. He returned to Naboo, returned to university, but even after graduating and getting a job, it all felt so empty. He still works with his father in Naboo, but his heart hasn't been in it for a long while. His father believed in the ideals of the Republic, still does, but for Gab something has changed. The Republic lies dead and the Empire that rose from its ashes casts a shadow everywhere he looks.
Personality: Determined and inquisitive; always seeking the truth but very opinionated. He has a gallows humor and a deep love for the ideals the Republic once represented for him. More than anything else, he hates “petty tyrants with delusions of grandeur.”
Important Assets: Modified BD-K Droid named “Dak” and the equipment to post anonymous, anti-imperial, articles in the dark corners of the Holo-net.
