Player: Robin
Character Name: Nayomi Ruthe
Species: Half-Mirialan
Age: Adult
Gender/Pronouns: Female, she/they
Homeworld: Shisukana, Ferra Sector
Desired Faction Affiliation: Zanshin, an offshoot of the Jedi Order
Desired Occupation: Nomad shaman, trader, worker of odd jobs
Force Sensitivity: Sensitive and well trained. Follows the way of Zanshin, a far less dogmatic teaching of the Force that rejects the modern tenets of the Jedi. The goal of any shaman is not to use the Force to dominate or control, but to live in harmony with the tides of life and the Force.
Biography: Born on the planet Shisukana to a mirialan mother and human father, Nayomi was raised in a colony that chose to be isolated from much of the galaxy, though not from its diverse variety of species. Their way of living was harsh but simple, resilient, peaceful, and molded her into a disciplined and compassionate woman. She became a hunter, weaver, and eventually a shaman—their sect's version of a Jedi knight. Her mother gave her traditional Mirialan tattoos at this achievement. A lover of geometry, innovation, and astronomy, she became charged with leaving the planet when niche bits of technology or resources were needed by the colonists, and would often visit the nearby planet of Tatooine to take up small jobs for credits but remain unnoticed by the Republic and CIS alike. Their planet was largely uncharted and they liked to keep it that way.
Upon the destruction of the Jedi and reformation of the Republic into the Galactic Empire, the Zanshin of Shisukana felt a great loss and became afraid. They could sense the gaping hole that had just been torn in the galaxy and wondered what could have caused such a disaster. Despite this alarming event, the Zanshin community did not feel compelled to investigate. They reasoned that whatever had destroyed their distant brethren could quickly turn its attention to them if their colony were discovered; some even believed that the Jedi deserved whatever fate had befallen them. No, they resolved, their safety was too important, their peace too fragile. Nayomi did not agree. She knew they had a kinship with the Jedi in spite of their different practices, and argued that they search for answers no matter the danger. The Zanshin elders were eventually persuaded to send encrypted messages to the other conclaves in distant parts of the galaxy, but received only chilling silence in return. After a year of waiting, contemplation, and debate, the elders decided they would not stop Nayomi, but would at least ensure she was properly defended on her voyage. Artisans of the community came together to revive an ancient craft from the days of the High Republic; they forged her a vibroblade and gifted her cortosis, which she wove into a cloak. Now a couple years after the Disturbance, Nayomi left the planet to find out what information they could beyond their sector of space—because if the Jedi had suddenly been swept out of the stars, couldn't the same happen to them?
Personality: Nayomi is grounded, kind, calm, and disciplined. She finds joy in the living Force, martial arts, dancing, feats of dexterity, knitting, and nature. Having been relatively insulated from the technologically-obsessed galactic way of life, she is confused by metropolitan cities, social constructs, and is likely developing agoraphobia. She thinks droids are cute and treats them like sentients.
Important Assets: A good solid wooden wroyshr stick, a newly forged short vibrosword, a cortosis half-cloak, an old HWK-310 spaceship, survival kit (hunting knife, fire starter, power packs, solar panel, woolen blanket, condenser, first aid), a small blaster, and simple plant-fiber robes. Also a kroshei hook.

Unnamed HWK-310 starship.
Other: The Zanshin colony on Shisukana is one of 4 conclaves in the galaxy that remain loosely connected but out of the eye of the Jedi Order. It was originally started some 150 years ago by Jedi that defected (or were expelled) from the Order due to disagreements in philosophy or practice. The Zanshin generally believed that the Jedi were becoming far too violent, arrogant, and narrow-minded, so they began a teaching that allowed exploration, attachment, and true symbiosis; and discarded lightsabers, child abduction (that's how they viewed Jedi recruitment), and age restrictions. Very shortly after forming a community on Shisukana, a former Jedi deleted the planet from the Archives in the hope of protecting the colony from scrutiny or pursuit. The other three conclaves were not given the same treatment.
